With a ton of hits to her credit, she continues to deliver the goods on every song she sings, and "We Can Do It" is no exception to the rule. This 12" is packed with several mixes to satisfy the club heads, but my favorites are the classic and the Audiowhores mixes. The Classic mix is very soulful and has all of the ingredients to make you yearn for more. The Audiowhores mix gives the peak-hour heads something to rave about. Pete Simpson - In My Heart - Zoo The twins (Bobby & Steve) from London team up with vocalist Pete Simpson to give us a nice song. When I heard this song for the first time I was hooked. Bobby & Steve's mix is a bit soulful and compliment Pete's vocals. DJ Spen's MuthaFunkaz vox and dub mixes are a tad bit harder for the prime time heads, but keeps the song true to form. Solara - Paradise - OM Evan and Parish from Morehouse records is at it again by giving us another soulful artist from their camp. Keeping it real by turning out some quality house music. This gem gives you four mixes to choose from, but I must say that I'm sold on the GJ Classic mix. It is oozing with some serious and kick ass vibes, tight drums, classic Spanish guitar riffs, and a pumping bass line to name a few. The other mixes are good also, for those of you who like their sound a bit different. The boys at Morehouse are making a name for their label by turning out another quality gem. //Tony Wilson July 2006 Ann Nesby - So much Joy - Code Red Ann Nesby is one of my hero's when it comes to Gospel-Dance music. With her latest offering on Code Red records entitled "So Much Joy", you'll see why. This song is packed with that old-school gospel flavor and will have you dancing, shouting, and raising your hands. Classic gospel piano riffs, horns, pumping bass and drums, and Ann's vocals make this song a hit for me. The vox and dub mixes are superb and will work any crowd, in any club, anywhere. The One sounds good, sampling such a classic as D-train is definatly putting you on a thin line between good and bad but Jeronski does it well and I'll probably end up playing both the original and this mix at the same time a couple of times!// Ingela Borgefjord Justin Michael & Darwin Paul Feat Jackie Wilson "Turn it Up" (Delecto Recordings) I'm in love! The original mix has all the ingredients I need to get pleased and more. Absolute top tune, both vocals and instrumentation is suberb. The StoneBridge mix adds a different flavour that I'm sure will work a treat on some of the main floors even though admittidly the Original mix is the one for me. Dropped these on the radiostation two days in a row and look forward to Turn It Up at every oppertunity I get. No question, a 5 star package!// Ingela Borgefjord DJ Prom - Slow It Down LITMUS The Warren Clarke mix has an "at night" vibe to it and should definatly be able to be as big w. the right support. Usually I tend to like the original mixes more and that's the case with the new DJ Prom as well. Very uplifting and most definatly a track that encourages you to dance - hard to stand still. Heavy-bottoms with a strong and pumping rhythm section coupled with Jada's refreshing vocals make's this one a massive club hit in the making. // Tony Wilson Kenny Bobien - Share - Devotion Share is another gospel-house vocal from the camp at Devotion. This one features Kenny Bobien, a man who has captivated the dance world with his falsetto-style vocals. This uplifting and passionate song combines a jazzy and rhythmic sound which is fused with a heart-pounding bass line, funky guitar work, smooth piano riffs, old-skool cow bells, and Kenny's spiritual and inspirational vocals. The dub version features the same intensity level, but with a more deeper sound. The workout mix is a bit more harder for those peak hour heads. Tommy's vocals are superb and are tailor-made for this one. This song will work in any big room or even in a smaller venue. It's graced by Inaya Day who delivers a stunning vocal performance up her usual standards. The Matty's II Deep mix is over 10 minutes long and worth every second of play, it's a beautiful number that lets Ms Day shine though in full strenght. The proper after hours heads will love the melodic and melancolic Soulflower Dub. The Acid Thunder Mix has that big room NY house sound and will work on the more commercial dance floor whereas the Sensible House Dub is more pumpin' and will work in most peak time sets. // DJ Ingela Natasha Lew - Special Love PRET A PORTER Pret A Porter is a new underlabel to Mix2Inside, the italian label and production team known for their happy, uplifting and dancefloor friendly sound. Special Love is no exception, and it comes with 4 different mixes for every tastes. The Luis Radio mix has a deep, driving, monotonic sound yet features a full vocal. In many cases it's far to electronic and quite uninteressting for my tastes but John and Andy delivers one of the few exceptions. Falling In Love has "HIT" written all over it.
